Cameron Diaz's 'Bad Teacher' gets TV pilot remake

A television version of Bad Teacher has been picked up to pilot.

CBS has hired writer Hilary Winston (Happy Endings, Community) to adapt the 2011 film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake and Jason Segel starred in the hit comedy. The pilot will follow the movie's premise and focus on an attractive, foul-mouthed teacher looking for her next husband.

The movie's writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg are attached to the TV version as executive producers.

The pair are already developing a remake of UK comedy Pulling and original sitcom Trophy Wife starring Malin Akerman at ABC.

CBS has already ordered 12 pilots for the current development season, including a TV adaptation of Eddie Murphy's Beverly Hills Cop.
