Wednesday ratings: 'American Idol' and 'Modern Family' down, 'CSI' up

Fox won Wednesday's ratings in both the 18-49 demographic and total viewers thanks to American Idol.

Idol dropped 10% from last week's premiere, but still easily topped the night with an 18-49 demo score of 5.4 (16 million viewers) at 8pm.

ABC's The Middle was up 9% to 2.5 (8.54m) at 8pm. The Neighbors climbed 6% to 1.9 (6.32m) at 8.30pm.

Modern Family dropped 5% to a season low score of 4.1 (10.81m) at 9pm. Suburgatory matched last week's 2.3 (6.28m) at 9.30pm. Nashville fell 18% to 1.8 (5.47m) at 10pm.

CBS's Criminal Minds was up 3% to 3.0 (11.74m) at 9pm. CSI climbed 17% to a new season high score of 2.7 (11.49m) at 10pm.

The CW's Arrow was even with last week's 1.1 (3.13m) at 8pm. Supernatural also matched last week's 0.9 (2.10pm) at 10pm.
