Teen Mom 2 is reportedly about to be cancelled by MTV.

Bosses are planning to drop the show after its fourth season - which has already been filmed - airs later this year, according to the New York Post.

The reports claim that executives are partly keen to drop the franchise because of star Jenelle Evans, who has faced a series of legal problems and recently filed assault charges against her husband Courtland Rogers.

A source told E! News that Evans is "too much of a liability".

"The way she's going, she could literally die and MTV will be blamed for it," the insider said. "They should have just taken away all her Twitters and Facebooks. Whatever."

Another source alleged that Teen Mom 2 is "definitely on its way out", although MTV insisted that the show has not yet been cancelled.

"No decision has been made yet regarding a fifth season of Teen Mom 2," the network said. "But the network is planning to air the fourth season this year and will announce the premiere date soon."

The original version of Teen Mom came to an end last year, while MTV announced the cast for Teen Mom 3 last November.
