Trouble with the Curve actor Goodman has been cast as North Carolina senator Gil John Biggs, according to Deadline.
His character is one of four senators in a script that follows the quartet's experience sharing a rented house in Washington DC.
Biggs is described as a large, cranky man who has his senate seat threatened when he goes up against a Duke basketball coach.

Alpha House was written by Pulitzer Prize winner Garry Trudeau (Doonesbury).
A premiere date for the series has yet to be revealed.
Goodman was honoured at the Screen Actors Guild awards on Sunday (January 27) as part of Argo's ensemble cast.
