A US adaptation, written by Homeland's Michael Cuesta, has now been picked up to pilot by CBS, according to TVLine.

Cuesta will also direct the pilot, while CSI's Carol Mendelsohn and the original show's creator Paula Milne will executive produce.

US remakes of UK shows are proving popular this pilot season - ABC is adapting BBC One's The Syndicate, Sky1's Spy and BBC Three's Pulling, while Fox has ordered pilots based on BBC shows Gavin & Stacey and Linda Green.

NBC is also remaking Sky Living comedy Gates, while The CW has ordered a remake of classic UK sci-fi series The Tomorrow People.
