Conan O'Brien's production company Conaco announced on Tuesday (February 26) that Holmes's series will be given a four-week test run beginning in the fall.
"Pete Holmes is an enormously likable performer with an agile and innovative mind," O'Brien said in a statement. "I'm really looking forward to his show, and I've already had my son programme my DVR."
Holmes also reacted humorously to landing his own TBS series, joking that he initially thought the pick-up was part of "a new TBS prank show called You Got Coned".
The comedian is perhaps best known for being the voice of the eTrade baby in a popular series of advertisements, and writing for both Outsourced and I Hate My Teenage Daughter.
His podcast You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes has received considerable acclaim for the comic's long-form interviews with stars such as Zach Galifianakis, Aziz Ansari and Upright Citizens Brigade co-founder Matt Besser.
