Tom Selleck joins 'Las Vegas'

Tom Selleck has joined the regular cast of NBC's Las Vegas, it has been confirmed.
Selleck joins the cast of the show, which airs on Sky One in the UK, as James Caan departs after four seasons. Caan will appear in one episode of the 2007-08 season having previously announced that he will be leaving the show after the 2007 season finale.
"We have been honoured and blessed to have had an actor of the magnitude of James Caan for the last four years and we've come up with four aces as legendary icon Tom Selleck has agreed to join the cast," said executive producer Gary Scott Thompson.

Selleck has been most recently seen on US dramatic TV in a 4 episode guest role on ABC's Boston Legal. He is best known for his 8 year role as Thomas Magnum in Magnum, P.I. and made nine notable guest appearances in Friends during the late 1990s.
