NBC has confirmed that the critically acclaimed drama Friday Night Lights will be returning to the network's schedule in the 2007-08 TV season.
Despite picking up praise from critics and the George Foster Peabody Award for Broadcasting Excellence, the show has struggled in its Wednesday night timeslot. The pilot episode, transmitted last October, was watched by just over 7m viewers but the series hovered closer to 5-6m viewers per episode through the rest of the season. It is understood that the show may be moved to Friday nights in the fall and air at a later hour than its current 8pm slot.
The show airs on ITV4 in the UK, where it premiered on February 21.
