'Studio 60' fails to make 2007-08 grade

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip will not be returning to NBC's schedule, the network has confirmed.
The show received widespread critical praise over its run but failed dismally in the ratings. It debuted last September to over 13m viewers. That number dwindled on a steady decline to barely over 6m viewers by mid-February. NBC had cited its upmarket-skewing audience for the show's continued presence on the 2006-07 schedule but by the end of its run cancellation was widely expected.
Studio 60's remaining episodes are still expected to be burned off after May sweeps.
