US version of 'Viva Blackpool' picked up

An American version of Viva Blackpool has been picked up to series by CBS.
Huff writer Bob Lowry and Hugh Jackman will executive produce Viva Laughlin, and it is understood that the show will track the original UK musical drama premise.
In the US version, casino owner Ripley Holden - played by David Morrissey in the UK original - will be played by Lloyd Owen. Holden plans to open a larger casino as part of a plan to revitalise Laughlin's entertainment strip. Eric Winter plays detective Peter Carlisle, and Mädchen Amick has been cast as Holden's wife Natalie.
CBS will make its full upfront presentation on Wednesday.
