The series - to premiere in early 2014 - is from JJ Abrams (Star Trek Into Darkness) and director Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men).

Believe focuses on the relationship between convict Tate - played by Super 8's Jake McLaughlin - and Bo (Johnny Sequoyah), a young girl with special powers that he has been tasked to protect.

Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil), Jamie Chung (Once Upon a Time) and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) will also star in the sci-fi series, executive produced by Abrams and Cuarón.
