CBS has ordered six episodes of The Captain, a new comedy starring Fran Kranz, for midseason.
The sitcom, which follows a young writer moving into a famous Hollywood apartment block, also stars Chris Klen (American Pie), Jeffrey Tambor (Arrested Development), and Raquel Welch (Legally Blonde). Zoolander writer John Hamburg created the show and will executive produce alongside Andrew Reich and Ted Cohen (Friends).
The Captain has become the fourth show to be lined up for midseason on CBS. It joins the recently-saved Jericho, Swingtown and The New Adventures of Old Christine.
