Supergirl will be flying into the cast of Smallville later this year, the CW has announced.
The show’s executive producer Al Gough heralded the new arrival, stating: "One of the joys of creating Smallville has been our ability to reinvent and reinterpret classic DC Comics characters… and I believe that Supergirl will give our series the mythic jolt that it needs."
Casting is currently underway for the role, but details of her character have been revealed by CW. Supergirl will take the form of a 19-year-old called Kara who, unlike Clark Kent, already has the ability to fly. She is also set to fall for the charms of Jimmy Olsen.
