Working Title Television has begun production in Luxembourg on a TV movie about the death of Princess Diana.

The programme is being made for US cable channel Lifetime and is due to air this August. Called The Murder of Princess Diana, the story is a fictionalised version of the book by the same name by Noel Botham, which suggests the fatal car crash that killed the Princess, Dodi Fayed and chauffeur Henri Paul was a part of a conspiracy.

House actress Jennifer Morrison has been cast as an American journalist in Paris who witnesses the crash. John Strickland is directing the movie from a teleplay by Emma Reeves and Reg Gadney.

Lifetime Networks president of entertainment Susanne Daniels said: "In this movie, we are sharing a dramatic story that will appeal to millions of people's continued fascination with both the facts and speculation surrounding the case."
