White powder scare closes ABC office

Offices for ABC's Good Morning America were closed for a short time on Friday after an employee opened an envelope containing an unidentified white powder and a letter.
The letter was intended for GMA weatherman Sam Champion and, according to ABC News, mentioned anthrax.
An employee opened the letter at 1pm on Friday, and alerted the authorities. ABC's offices at 147 Columbus Avenue in Manhattan was surrounded by police and hazardous materials teams but were reopened a short time later.
Preliminary tests on the envelope were negative for any hazardous substance.
