ABC Sports brand to disappear
Published Tuesday, Jun 26 2007, 10:24 BST | By James Welsh
All sports coverage on ABC will be branded with the ESPN name from September, effectively consigning the long-lived ABC Sports brand to history.
Both ABC and ESPN are part of Disney and the network's sports department was fully merged with ESPN last year. However, the ABC Sports brand continued to be used on the air alongside an "ESPN on ABC" transition moniker.
From September 2, however, all sets and graphics - with the exception of one ABC bug in the lower-right corner, will be ESPN-branded.
