BBC Worldwide America is to make an American version of DanceX - the dance competition show currently airing on BBC One - for ABC.
The network is understood to have commissioned a series of at least six episodes targeted at an intra-Dancing with the Stars run next January.
Strictly judge and DanceX coach-choreographer Bruno Tonioli has been signed to appear in the US version alongside fellow Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba. Tonioli will be adding DanceX USA to his already packed schedule; after DanceX UK concludes its current run, he will be appearing in both Strictly on BBC One and Dancing with the Stars on ABC.
