Anne Robinson to guest in 'Providence'

NBC's Friday night series Providence is returning to the network's schedules on March 22 at 8pm ET - the first in a new series of eight original episodes.
The episodes, which will air consecutively through the spring, will see a number of guest stars joining the cast - including perhaps somewhat bizarrely, Anne Robinson of Weakest Link fame. Robinson will appear as part of a dream sequence from the mind of Syd (Melina Kanakaredes).
Other guest stars include Morgan Fairchild ("Falcon Crest"), Marilu Henner ("Taxi"), and Melissa Gilbert ("Little House on the Prairie").
In the first episode of the new series, Syd is faced with a malpractice suit in which she is faced with losing her medical license; and decides to head west with sister Joanie (Paula Cale) to see what new opportunities are in Los Angeles.
Over the entire arc of episodes, the Hansen family will be faced with challenges. Syd works through her loss of identity as a doctor with her psychiatrist (guest-star Isabella Hofmann, Homicide: Life on the Street) and is annoyed but intrigued with her quirky lawyer Owen Frank (guest star George Newbern, Father of the Bride).
Meanwhile, as Jim continues to recover from his brain injury, he returns to the vet clinic and strikes up promising romantic friendships with a fellow patient (Marcia Strassman, Welcome Back, Kotter) and a client (Marilu Henner, Taxi). Joanie is on the romantic rebound again, and decides to return to college. Meanwhile, Robbie (Seth Peterson) and Tina (Maria Pitillo) become expectant parents with unexpected results. Concetta Tomei, Dana Daurey, Samaria Graham, Alex P. Linz and Tessa Allen also star.
