Oscar Award-winning actor Michael Douglas is to guest star in a sweeps episode of NBC's Will & Grace, playing a gay detective. Douglas will also be joined by Molly Shannon (Saturday Night Live) who reprises her role as a "loony kleptomaniac" who befriends Grace (Debra Messing).
Glenn Close, who appeared in Fatal Attraction alongside Douglas, will guest star in a separate episode as a "famous and mercurial" celebrity photographer during the critical May rating sweeps period.
In the episode, Fagel Attraction - to be broadcast on Thursday, April 25 - Douglas plays off his former young police detective role opposite Karl Malden on The Streets of San Francisco from 1972-76 to portray a gay detective who's attracted to Will (Eric McCormack) during an investigation of the theft of his laptop computer.
Close will appear in the episode Hocus Focus for broadcast on Thursday, May 2. She won an Emmy Award for her performance in the 1995 NBC miniseries Serving in Silence: The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story.
