Marge Simpson hosted Channel 4's Alternative Christmas Message in 2004, and compared her relationship with Homer to the Beckhams' marriage: "Our union is as solid as the union between your David Beckham and Posh Spice. Oh, he did that? With his assistant? That's so sad. Okay, moving on."
Groening confirmed: "Beckham didn't want to take part, but never mind."
