'Simpsons' writers to mock Beckham?

The Simpsons producers are planning to mock David Beckham in a forthcoming episode of the cartoon, according to a report.

The LA Galaxy footballer recently turned down an offer to appear on the show because he is still unhappy about a joke that writers made about his alleged affair with Rebecca Loos.

Now the show's team are planning an episode involving a fictional footballer who is based on David. The story will see an English soccer hero called Tony Peckham moving to the US with his wife.

An insider told the Daily Star: "They have free rein, really."
