Parts of this report from PRNewswire - CN8, The Comcast Network announced it has received a total of nineteen Telly awards for excellence in programming. The Telly is awarded to individuals and programmes that have attained the highest level of excellence in programme content, technical display and public service.
CN8 Creative Services won nine of the nineteen awards in the categories of media promotion and graphic animation. Awards given for media promotion include 9/11 Salute, CN8's New Look, CN8 Presents Weeknights, CN8 Image/Drummer and CN8 Talent. Four Tellys were awarded in the category of graphic animation for the following promos, America Strikes Back, Celebrity Billiards, From the Four Corners, and College Football Game Day.
CN8 Original Programming won two Tellys in the category of "TV or Cable Programme-Entertainment," for their original concert series Comcast in Concert with awards for Comcast Behind the Scenes: Pantene Pro Voice and Comcast Studio C: Crash Test Dummies.
CN8's political round-table discussion series It's Your Call with Lynn Doyle also received Tellys for original programming, garnering two awards for two shows dealing with the World Trade Centre attacks and their aftermath.
Comcast Newsmakers won three awards, including one in the public affairs category for CN8's Political Director Lynn Doyle's interview with New Jersey Governor James McGreevey during his run for office. Newsmakers also received two Tellys in the category of "Non-Broadcast Film/Video and TV Programmes" - one, for Doyle's interview with New Jersey State Senator John Corzine and a second for Newsmaker host Jaclyn D'Auria's interview with New Jersey State Senator Joseph Charles, Jr.
CN8's Real Life received three Telly awards - two in the category for "TV and Cable Programme-Information" for the episodes, "Understanding Afghanistan" and "Grieving At The Holidays." The series accepted another one in the category of "TV and Cable Programme-Cultural" for an episode on "Myths And Urban Legends."
CN8 serves cable customers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. It is a 24-hour channel providing locally-produced programming.
