ABC News' George Stephanopoulos is to take the anchor slot on ABC's Sunday-morning news show, This Week, replacing Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts, who will be shifted to other roles at the network's news division.
The show also has a new executive producer, Jon Banner, replacing Virginia Moseley, who moves to the position of director of editorial projects at ABC News.
The news division's chief, David Westin, said: "the torch at This Week is passed to George Stephanopoulos, I could not have more confidence in his abilities to lead the programme forward. In his more than five years at ABC News covering national and international stories, George has demonstrated a keen understanding of the issues and superb ability to communicate to an audience."
