Published Monday, Oct 15 2007, 09:19 BST | By James Welsh
Fox is to launch its new consumer-focused business news channel into 30m homes this morning.
The channel, which has gained carriage in the expanded basic cable tier in America's major TV markets, goes on air at 5am Eastern today.
Fox News personality Neil Cavuto is leading the channel in an executive editor capacity, and will also host a flagship 6pm Eastern show simply titled Cavuto - going up against more established business interview shows such as CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight. In a format similar to Fox News, daytime programming will mainly consist of live coverage while primetime will focus more on personality-led interview and debate programmes.
America's existing business news channels, CNBC and Bloomberg, have recently retooled their schedule and on-air looks.
