Larry David has denied claims that the breakdown of his marriage in TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm is based on his real-life divorce.
The comedian's onscreen wife Cheryl (Cheryl Hines) is seen walking out on him in an upcoming episode of the show.
David's real wife Laurie filed for divorce in July after 14 years of marriage.
But he said the storyline was simply a "very weird" coincidence, insisting that he had written the plot before the couple announced their separation.
He said: "This was all written before any of my marriage problems. I knew when we were filming what was going on. Obviously, it didn't just happen overnight."
