Cartoon Network has appointed its first ever chief content officer to manage production, acquisitions, and Cartoon Network Studios.
Robert Sorcher will take on the role in January and leave as executive vice president of programming and production at Rainbow Media's AMC Network.
He has previously worked for the broadcaster as senior vice president and then executive vice president, as well as holding executive and manager positions at the USA Network and Fox Family Channel.
Stuart Snyder, Turner Broadcasting's executive vice president for animation, young adults and kids media group, announced the appointment.
He said: "It is precisely Rob's breadth of experience and entrepreneurial drive that made him the ideal choice to lead the charge for Cartoon Network's content strategy."
