NBC pulls out of January press tour

NBC has confirmed that it will not be attending the Television Critics Association's winter tour due to financial concerns as the WGA strike goes into its tenth day.

In addition to the financial pressures - it is reported that a single TCA presentation can cost more than $500,000 - network executives are also concerned that big-name stars will not be willing to do publicity for their shows while the WGA strike continues.

According to Variety, only PBS and cable channels have indicated a definite willingness to participate in the TCA winter tour. ABC and Fox are likely to reach the same decision as NBC over the next couple of days, and CBS and The CW are not confirming their intentions either way.
