Stars from some of America's biggest television shows came out in support of striking writers yesterday.

Actors from shows including Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, CSI and Numb3rs participated in an event titled "Picket with the Stars" on what was day nine of the Writers Guild of America work stoppage. Hundreds of participants gathered outside Universal Studios in Los Angeles for the occasion.

"There isn’t an actor I talk to who hasn’t felt what the writers are going through," explained CSI star William Petersen.

The WGA estimated that 2,500 people - including many from the Screen Actors Guild - marched outside Universal City on Lankershim Boulevard.
