MTV has picked up a Randy Jackson-produced dance competition reality show for transmission early next year.
Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew is a repurposed-for-cable version of World Moves, which was unveiled by NBC during its May upfront presentation. The network's new programming team of Ben Silverman and Marc Graboff declined to move the project forward, leaving it free for MTV to redevelop it.
MTV's scheduling will put the show - which features Jackson in an on-air capacity - on the air at the same time as he appears on American Idol over on Fox. The show will also be going up against ABC's version of BBC One's DanceX, which features Dancing with the Stars judges Carrie-Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli developing dance talent.
