Talks between the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Pictures are to resume on November 26, it has been confirmed.
WGA negotiating committee chief John Bowman said: "We're entering the holiday season -- a season of charity and of Scrooge. Please, AMPTP, don't be typecast. Let's get this done by Christmas."
In a short statement to the press, the AMPTP confirmed: "Leaders from the AMPTP and the WGA have mutually agreed to resume formal negotiations on November 26. No other details or press statements will be issued."
Both sides have agreed to a news blackout over the Thanksgiving holiday, and the WGA is suspending picket activity during the period.
