NBC tops Christmas Day ratings

The game show, which was one of only two first-run programmes to air on broadcast TV in primetime, averaged close to 10m total viewers and an 8% share in adults 18-49. It peaked at 9:30pm with 11.7m viewers.
Those numbers handed NBC a victory across primetime, with the network averaging 9m viewers. Fox managed second place with a 5.7m average, closely followed by ABC - which aired Pirates of the Caribbean - with 5.5m viewers. CBS, whose 48 Hours Mystery was the only other first-run programme on the terrestrial networks, averaged 5.4m viewers across the night.
