Golden Globes ceremony cancelled

The decision to scrap the ceremony and its traditional after-parties came after top nominees confirmed that they would not cross WGA picket lines outside the Beverly Hilton.
In a statement, HFPA president Jorge Camara said: "We are all very disappointed that our traditional awards ceremony will not take place this year and that millions of viewers worldwide will be deprived of seeing many of their favourite stars celebrating 2007’s outstanding achievements in motion pictures and television."
The HFPA has scheduled an hour-long press conference for 6pm Pacific time on Sunday, January 13 at which this year's Golden Globe recipients will be announced. The conference will be carried live in the US by NBC News; the ceremony was to have gone out in primetime on the network.
