NBC's Conan O'Brien will host the Emmy Awards, the network has confirmed following mounting speculation that he would get the job. It does however mean that Jay Leno, who other analysts had been anticipating would host the show, will not be involved.
Jeff Zucker, President of NBC Entertainment, made the announcement and said: "Conan is one of the sharpest original voices in television comedy, I can’t imagine a better choice."
The 54th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air at 8pm ET, September 22, on NBC.
