The Montel Williams Show has ended production after 17 years on TV.

CBS TV Distribution has confirmed that the show will finish shooting with the conclusion of the current series.

A 'Best of" package will be shown across a number of stations in 2008-9, according to Variety.

Williams, who served as a military officer, began his talk show career in New York in 1991.

John Nogawski, CBS TV Distribution chief operating officer, commented: "Stations continue to embrace Montel and the message of social responsibility that has been the cornerstone of his show."
