'The Cleaner' drama on the way to A&E

A&E Network is developing a new series about an "extreme interventionist" who helps addicts get off drugs.
The Cleaner will see ex-user William Banks (Benjamin Bratt) turn to God and get clean then dedicate his life to helping others beat their addictions.
Thirteen hour-long episodes have been ordered and work will begin imminently in time for a scheduled summer airing. It is inspired by a true story and will be the channel's first new drama series for six years.
A&E's executive vice president Bob DeBitetto said: "It's not a crime show or a law show or a hospital show, it's something different. It's the sort of honest, authentic, emotional storytelling that defines a lot of our programming."
He is hoping the channel will bring more new dramas in the future.
The Cleaner will be the first produced by CBS Paramount Network TV's cable division.
