Martin to leave 'Law & Order'

Law & Order actor Jesse L Martin is to leave the show after nine years, according to a report.

Martin's Detective Ed Green character is expected to be written out in the one episode he has left to film. The actor will start shooting his role as Marvin Gaye in biopic Sexual Healing in the spring.

In his place a new detective played by Anthony Anderson (The Shield, The Departed) will join the long-running show.
