NBC has been in talks with producers ABC Studios on how to close the current series, which was expected to be the last.
However, it was reported yesterday that ABC is in negotiations to order another 18 episodes on the long-running comedy.
The previous run on NBC was cut short at 12 episodes by the writers strike. There are five unaired shows left which the network plans to broadcast starting on April 10.
