Christian Slater is on the verge of his first full television series role, according to a report.
The actor will star in the untitled drama as an otherwise-regular father who discovers he has a spy alter ego, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show has been described as The Bourne Identity crossed with Jekyll & Hyde.
Slater's television roles to date have been confined to guest appearances in The West Wing and Alias.
NBC is said to be close to ordering a full run of the series from Jason Smilovic (Bionic Woman).
