Leno apologises for Phillippe gay joke
Published Wednesday, Apr 2 2008, 10:11 BST | By Simon Reynolds

Leno asked Stop Loss star Ryan Phillippe to give him his "gayest look" when the actor revealed his first acting job was as a gay teenager on the soap One Life To Live.
"Can you give me your gayest look? Say that camera is Billy Bob... Billy Bob has just ridden in shirtless from Wyoming," Leno said.
The comments angered the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), who asked Leno to apologise.
"In talking about Ryan's first role, I realise that what I said came out wrong," the 57-year-old said. "I certainly didn't mean any malice. I agree it was a dumb thing to say, and I apologise."
