Presenter Howie Mandel called contestant Joseph Kobes "the ultimate American" for serving in Iraq three times and picking up a Purple Heart and Bronze Star while in service.
He then introduced President Bush via a taped video message.
Wishing Kobes luck as he attempted to win the $1 million prize, Bush said: "Captain Kobes, I'm thrilled to be on Deal Or No Deal with you tonight. Come to think of it, I'm thrilled to be anywhere with high ratings these days."
Bush then joked with host Mandel, asking for his help with the federal budget.
"Howie, I don't know if you're free to come to Washington anytime soon, but I have to reach an agreement with Congress on the federal budget. How'd you like to host the $3 trillion Deal Or No Deal?"
