Rodriguez plans prison drama series

Robert Rodriguez is looking to develop a violent drama series set at a women's prison.

The Sin City director has sent draft scripts for Women In Chains! to broadcasters in the US hoping they will pick it up.

Rodriguez's fiancée Rose McGowan would play one of the prisoners in the show, which is rumoured to have a 1970s exploitation feel akin to the director's Planet Terror movie.

Meanwhile, NBC has ordered a pilot of a comedy show about a powerful woman who works in hedge funds. The pickup from writer Jon Pollack (30 Rock) is dependent on producers finding a suitable cast.
