Producers said one of the two is being lined up as a love interest for Sarah Whedon (Rachel Griffiths).
Whedon, whose marriage came to an end during the past season, will meet the pair through her business Ojai Foods. New Brothers & Sisters will begin on ABC in the US in the autumn.
Separately, McCormack has been given a role in a comedy pilot in development for ABC. The untitled show is about two friends and business partners, one straight and one gay. McCormack will play a client of their firm.
