Green, Meyer to join 'Heroes' cast

Seth Green and Breckin Meyer are close to agreeing on a deal to join the cast of Heroes, reports Entertainment Weekly.

The pair, who write and star in stop-motion animated comedy show Robot Chicken, will appear in a multi-episode arc in the forthcoming third season.

They will portray Atlanta-based comic book geeks who cross paths with, and act as advisers to, one of the sci-fi show's lead superheroes.

Green's screen credits include the Austin Powers series and The Italian Job. Meyer has featured in Garfield, Road Trip and Clueless.

Season three of Heroes begins this September on NBC. Episodes will be broadcast just days later in the UK on BBC Two and BBC Three.
