NBC
Ratings for the current fourth season have been the lowest to date, suggesting that the show may not be renewed for another run.
However, Panettiere - Claire Bennet on the drama series - has proposed that the end of season four will lead into an exciting fifth season.
"[The finale] is a very cool end of the season and it's something that you know will change everything next season! It's simple and it's awesome!" she said.
She added that the season four finale sees Claire trying to be the peacemaker and prevent Samuel from killing thousands of innocent people.
Heroes concludes its fourth season tonight at 9pm on NBC in the US and continues Saturdays on BBC Two in the UK.
