The superhero drama was cancelled by NBC earlier this month but the network is now considering a special to end the series.
"I hope [there's a wrap-up movie], but you know better than I do that financially it might be impossible to do," Grunberg told Entertainment Weekly. "There are a lot of actors, we're all tied to a contract. I hope that we can work it out. I mean, I'm certainly willing to come back and I think everybody is. I've talked to everybody and everybody really wants to wrap this up."
The actor, who played Matt Parkman, continued: "[Creator] Tim [Kring] I talked to, he has a great story in mind. I think he has to sort of rethink it. He was thinking in terms of six or 13 [episodes], now it would have to be two hours or four hours. But I know the network wants to. A lot of people want that wrap-up."
Grunberg also revealed that he would like the series to have a happy ending for the characters.
"I think we were in a good creative place and getting back to a place where people were happy with the show again," he said. "So let's wrap it up and see where these characters go. And not kill them all off. Let's have some sort of a, possibly a happy ending. I mean, that would be nice, wouldn't it?
"If my character got to be that father and have that normal life that he always wanted, that, for me, would be a great ending to the show. It might be boring for people but I think that's what he always wanted, so that would be nice to play out."
