Heroes star Zachary Quinto has insisted that positive energy landed him the role of the young Spock in the new Star Trek film.
The actor - who plays Sylar in the superhero drama - said he let his desire to appear in the movie be known to the universe as soon as he heard that director JJ Abrams had begun casting.
He told WENN: "I started talking about it to everybody - to my friends, my agents, reporters who interviewed me. I put my intentions out there clearly and the universe responded. This is age-old thinking rooted in Eastern philosophy and spirituality."
Quinto will join Eric Bana and original Spock Leonard Nimoy in the film, the eleventh big screen outing for the franchise.
It was recently revealed that Simon Pegg and John Cho will also star in the movie.
