S01E15: 'Run!'

Claire’s newly discovered mother Meredith phones the cheerleader’s real father Nathan to reveal their existence. She blackmails him to the sum of $100,000 to keep quiet and not jeopardise his election campaign. Later, Claire turns up at her trailer hoping to meet her father, but is knocked back by Meredith who promises her some money but says she wants them to go their separate ways. She takes a photo of her on her phone then heads off.

Claire hangs around and eavesdrops outside Meredith’s home. Nathan arrives and sees the photo, but refuses the chance to meet Claire. He heads off, with Claire hurling a stone at his car from a distance. She later returns home to find her mother in a very confused state, not able to recognise her or her pet.

Sylar turns up on the doorstep of a man called Zane, who has contacted Mohinder about his powers. Soon, the poor man is dead and Sylar has picked up his ability to alter the molecular structure of metallic objects like a toaster. The real Mohinder turns up, with Sylar posing as Zane and suggesting they join forces to try and help the other special people on his list.

Hiro and Ando encounter a distressed lady called Hope in a Las Vegas hotel. Thinking it is their destiny to help her, Ando agrees to go to the room of her abusive ex-boyfriend to retrieve her pink bag. Soon, Hiro discovers she is a fraud after overhearing a phonecall and confronts her. Hope delivers a swift punch and Hiro soon wakes up locked in a closet, as Ando returns the bag to the con artist.

Having been suspended from his cop job, Matt is now working as a bodyguard to man called Aron. Jessica has been instructed to kill him by Mr Linderman as he has stolen large sums of money from him. Matt realises the danger when he overhears the thoughts of a jeweller Aron has gone to pick up some diamonds from, learning that it is a set up. The pair escape but Jessica pursues them, throwing Matt out of a window only for him to narrowly avoid death by landing on a large sign. Aron is killed and the police arrive on the scene. Matt hears one of the officers thinking about how the psychic has very little chance of getting back on the force. Dejected, he keeps the diamonds he has just found stashed away. Jessica then receives the order to assassinate Nathan.
