S01E08: 'Seven Minutes To Midnight'

The murderous menace of Sylar really takes hold in this gripping episode of Heroes, with the gruesome scene involving waitress Charlie's murder showing us that he means business. This scene, along with the depiction of Sylar, is very powerful as it lets our imagination run wild.
As mentioned in previous reviews, the character of Mr Bennet is fairly intriguing. In 'Seven Minutes To Midnight' his ambiguity is brought to new levels. The (supposedly) caring father aspect of him is desperate for Isaac to start painting and enable him to save his daughter, yet he is quite happy to push heroin on the recovering addict in order to help. An interesting history with Eden is also hinted at. Also, don't forget that Bennet recently abducted Matt and Nathan - and didn't come across as much of a philanthropist then!
Conversely, the Mohinder in India plot feels a bit stale and takes us away from the more gripping story. It will undoubtedly all come together in future episodes, but for the moment it's a tad meandering.
Finally, who would have thought Hiro would prove to be such a ladies man? Charlie was definitely keen on him, although Hiro wisely decided to go back in time to continue their frisson - rather than get up to no good with a brainless corpse.
