Nonetheless, the value of this episode won’t be appreciated until later weeks. For ‘Fallout’ takes the consolidation route by setting the wheels in motion for future events. We witness Mr Bennet’s intriguing suggestion – “together we could make a difference” - to Mohinder that they form an alliance, although whether this would be beneficial to the ‘heroes’ is anyone’s guess at the moment. The ubiquitous Bennet seems to have reverted to bad guy status for the time being.
Former Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston also makes a brief, but very welcome, appearance as the invisible Claude. As Peter can pick up his invisibility powers when close, could this be the start of another alliance? Don’t forget our old radioactive pal Theodore either. His explosive experiments were momentarily shown in the episode but tie in with the visions experienced by Peter.
Heroes deals with many disparate characters and their own stories, with one of the show’s strengths being that it’s not afraid to start spinning a few more plates every now and then. However, this often requires the need to regroup in order to kick off these new storyline strands that will ultimately lead to another assault on our senses.
