The premiere episode of season five will air on January 21 at 9:00/8:00c following a one-hour recap of the story so far. It will then continue to be screened on Wednesday nights for the remainder of the season.
Lost aired on Wednesday nights for its first three seasons before being shifted to Thursdays for its fourth run this year.
Season five is expected to focus on the Oceanic Six who returned home in this year's run. Showrunner Damon Lindelof has promised to show why the characters "need to get back" to the island.
